Floyd Little was the first No 1 draft pick ever signed by the Broncos and was widely regarded as the first serious threat for the Broncos at running back Little totaled A Pro Bowl player in 1971 he played in the AFL All Star games When Little retired he was among the Top 10 all time rushers in NFL history.


As he refined his running style at the pro level the Broncos continued to give him more carries each season By his third year he averaged a league high and career best 5.0 yards per carry In 1971, he became the first 1,000 yard rusher in Denver Broncos history.


On the first play from scrimmage after the kick with the game tied at 10 Little hauled in the screen pass from Steve Ramsey and raced down the sideline for the score I knew it was going to go before we even lined up said Little It's one of my favorite plays we hadn't run it all day.
